Vitamin B complex also includes folic acid, niacin, riboflavin and thiamine. They should also contribute in ensuring healthy hair and scalp. If both are healthy, they will grow at optimum speed. Iron is also needed to ensure proper growth of hair. Iron deficiency could cause anemia and depression, both are causes of hair loss and unhealthy scalp. We can obtain more iron from dark green vegetables, collard, egg yolk, red meat, prunes, raisins, clams, soybeans, iron enriched cereals and soybeans. Vitamin C is also essential to make sure that our body can properly absorb iron.
